GMR is a private community-centered organization that offers residential and personal supports both for children and adults with mental retardation and associated mental and physical handicaps. GMR offers residential living in supported living setting, where services can be delivered in the individual’s home (with family), or in their own apartment or house. Services delivered are determined by the needs of the individual, services can range from drop in to full time 24/7 coverage. Services provided are largely paid for by the Medicaid Waiver.
GMR also operates an Adult Day program, the "Leisure and Learning" center, as well as also being a provider of Non-medical Transportation. GMR was founded in 2001, by owner and CEO Mary Shelton, out of the services she felt were needed by her own daughter with MRDD
