Job Description

Planner

Competitive Pay

This position will support material planning activities including supplier management, MRP, Kanban, inventory control & stocking strategies.  You’ll utilize communication & organizational skills to support the management of the corporations' assets to maximize customer service while minimizing working capital investment.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Familiar knowledge of business operations, particularly inventory control, planning, logistics, & operations management.
  • Personal computer skills to track information, assemble reports, & complete administrative responsibilities. AS 400 experience preferred.
  • Must possess strong analytical, organizational & communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate & analyze information for financial based decisions.
  • The CVA organization has the right to deem a person qualified for a position if that person has had 1+ years experience

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Help manage a material planning system that will ensure the availability of material in sufficient quantities to meet customer demand & support marketing programs.
  • Maintain database integrity regarding supplier parameters such as lead-times, forecasts, safety stock & planner codes.
  • Support the Meritor scheduled orders with suppliers.
  • Serve as focus point for interactions on materials issues between suppliers, customers & central purchasing.
  • Provide response for customer expedite inquiries on sourced material & on orders that are past due.
  • Interface with vendors & logistics management co. to ensure internal need dates are met at minimum freight costs.
  • Work directly with suppliers & central purchasing to reduce minimums & lead-times to achieve inventory reductions.
  • Participate in the APS continuous improvement process.
  • Actively support software & process changes.
  • Be familiar with & abide by policies & procedures relating to standards of business conduct, conflicts of interest, QS-9000 & ethics with the letter & spirit of such policies & programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
